It is with great sadness that The Rugby Club reports on the passing of John Jeavons-Fellows on Tuesday 16th May 2017, at his home in Shrawley, Worcester, England. John was an England Delegate to the International Rugby Board, now World Rugby, for many years, and had always been a great servant of Rugby.
John was particularly supportive of Australia and Southern Hemisphere Rugby in the mid-nineties when SANZAR was formed and the game became professional with the ARU taking the lead position in this major change to the game. As a result, John made many lasting friendships in Australia and New Zealand and when a son and a daughter took up residence in Sydney, these friendships were further strengthened when he and his wife Jacquie visited Australia.
John was an Overseas Member of The Rugby Club, and such was his admiration of the Club, he always visited it when in Sydney and donated some of his Rugby memorabilia for display.
The Board and Members of The Rugby Club extend their deepest sympathy to John’s family on the passing of a great man of Rugby.
Yours in Rugby.
