To mark the end of this Rugby World Cup year, and as a lead into the Super Rugby season, we are delighted to again host a select luncheon in the 2nd floor Wallaby dining room, featuring a World Cup Wallaby as guest speaker. The lunch will take place on Monday 12th December.

Michael Foley represented NSW Schoolboys, Australian Schoolboys and NSW under 21s and played 111 games for the Queensland Reds. His Wallaby debut came in the 1995 RWC. He played 50 Internationals, was a member of the 1999 World Cup winning Wallabies and also against the 2001 British Lions.

Michael is one of Australia’s most capped front row forwards and now most experienced coaches. He was Assistant Coach to Bath (2001-06) and Australia (2006-08), and following his time most recently as Assistant Coach at the HSBC Waratahs, he is now Head Coach.

To book, please call the Club on 02 9247 3344. Tickets are limited so please hurry – every Wallaby Lunch has sold out within days throughout 2011 and this will be no exception.

On Tuesday 8th November, 45 Members responded to the Notice Of Meeting and attended the Extraordinary General Meeting called to vote on the Resolution to remove the Club premises from “Core Property” as defined under the Licensed Clubs Act Clause 41(j).

I handed the Chair of the meeting to the Treasurer to enable me to propose the motion and then speak in favour of it. Former President, Peter Maxwell Seconded the motion and also spoke in support. Four Members, Phil Harry, Rob Shaw, Peter Friend and Russell McLane spoke to the motion and all were in support. The Chair asked if any Member present wished to speak against the motion and received no response. The vote was put and all 45 Members present voted in support of the motion.

On behalf of the Board, I place on record our thanks for this vote of confidence in the direction we are taking as enunciated in the pre meeting papers and further at the meeting. Your Board will continue to work towards the best outcomes for the Club and Members.
